Spiritual Practices Retreat
Spiritual Practices for Your Work Life Retreat
Saturday, March 16, 2013
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
This one-day retreat will be co-led by Fuller alumnus Rob Tribken, Chairman of the Center for Faith and Enterprise and hosted by Fuller's Max De Pree Center for Leadership.
You are invited you to join your peers at a one-day retreat to discover spiritual practices that can help you in your work. We hope you will consider attending.
We believe that spiritual practices can help us in our work lives. They help us turn our attention towards God, develop a deeper sense of mission and enable us to work with more purpose, satisfaction and effectiveness. They can help inform, focus and energize our work. In times of stress they can help reduce our anxiety so that we can act with greater clarity and wisdom.
The purpose of this retreat is to explore and experiment with a range of spiritual practices involving prayer and meditation in order to find the ones that are most useful for each participant. We will discuss a broad variety of ideas (including those contributed by participants) and experience at least three practices that represent very different types of Christian meditation. We will also include quick practices that can help us stay calm, focused and mindful of our larger purpose during stressful periods when little or no time is available.
Retreat Leaders:
The retreat will be led by Rob Tribken, Chairman of the Center for Faith and Enterprise, and Shelley Irvine, Director of Spiritual Guidance Ministries for La Canada Presbyterian Church. Onsite arrangements are being managed by Don Mills of the C.F.E. and Stephanie Struck of the Max De Pree Center for Leadership. Gideon Strauss, Executive Director of the De Pree Center, will welcome the participants.
