Panel Discussion on "Missions in a Post-American World"
The Center for Missiological Research will host its annual Missiology
Lectures Panel Discussion on April 14, 2011 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in
Travis Auditorium. This year’s panelists include Dr. Bryant Myers, Dr.
Douglas McConnell, Dr. Grace Dyrness and Dr. Carolyn Gordon.
The
panel discussion is intended as a forum where issues raised in the
previous Missiology Lectures are given wider treatment, drawing on
different perspectives. In this case, the panelists will be speaking
about the theme of "Missions in a Post-American World" from the
viewpoint of their own discipline, experience, and personal research.
Broadly speaking, the discussion will engage the mission of the church
as it relates to the new challenges and opportunities that confront
Christian ministry in the 21st century. More specifically, the panelists
will be addressing issues related to globalization, theological
education, urban contexts, and the black church.
