New Faculty

Fuller welcomes five new professors to its faculty for the new 2011-2012 academic year. Get to know them by clicking on their pictures below:

Professor of Psychology
Thrive Chair for Applied Developmental Science

Dr. Barrett, coming to Fuller from the University of Oxford’s Center for Anthropology and Mind, will lead Fuller’s new Thrive Center focusing on positive youth development.

Professor of Systematic Theology

Dr. Crisp comes to Fuller from the University of Bristol, U.K., where he served as a lecturer and Reader in Theology, and brings a desire to foster “theological community.”

Professor of Theology and Ethics

Dr. Lee, coming from a longtime post at New Brunswick Theological Seminary in New Jersey, brings an expertise in Reformed Christian ethics and Martin Luther King Jr.

Kyong-Jin Lee smallKyong-Jin Lee
Assistant Professor of Old Testament Studies

Dr. Lee, who has lived in Latin America, Israel, Europe, and the U.S., comes from Spring Arbor University in Michigan and brings the experience of living in many different cultures.

Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology

Dr. Wong comes to Fuller from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, bringing a research focus on children’s social, emotional, and spiritual development.

A New Provost
doug-mcconnell-smallFuller also begins the 2011-2012 academic year with a new provost: C. Douglas McConnell, who was formerly dean of the School of Intercultural Studies.  Dr. McConnell succeeds Sherwood Lingenfelter, who has retired as provost after eight years in the position and will continue to serve Fuller as professor of anthropology. A Strategic New Position
juan-martinez-small-2Juan Francisco Martínez begins the new year as Associate Provost for Diversity and International Programs, a newly created position that addresses issues of high priority to Fuller in its mission to serve the global church. Dr. Martínez, at Fuller since 2001, will also continue to lead Fuller’s  Center for the Study of Hispanic Church and Community. Read more
