The Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels (2nd edition) by Joel B. Green, general editor, and Jeannine K. Brown and Nicholas Perrin, associate editors, has received an award from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) for the top scoring book in the Bible Reference category. ECPA recognizes Christian publishing's "highest quality and greatest impact" books in seven categories: Bibles, Bible reference, non-fiction, fiction, children, inspiration, and new author.
Dr. Green is associate dean for the Center for Advanced Theological Studies and professor of New Testament interpretation at Fuller.
The second edition of the Dictionary of Jesus and the Gospels is a thoroughly revised version of the critically acclaimed 1992 first edition, edited by Joel Green and Scot McKnight. Over 90 percent of the articles have been completely rewritten, and the remainder has been revised and updated.
Fuller faculty members who contributed to this new edition included Colin Brown, David Downs, Donald Hagner, Marianne Meye Thompson, and Stephen Young, as well as general editor Joel Green. The goal of the new edition is to bridge the gap between scholars and pastors, teachers, students, and other readers interested in a comprehensive treatment of the scriptures in an accessible and summary format.
