Students from Cohorts 24 and 25 Reflect on their First MAGL Seminar Course: Spring/Summer 2011
This was more than a class. It was direction for life, together with a great group of people, administrators and students! Thanks for a great week.
It was so amazing learning from the life experience of great leaders from around the world. The experience was enriching in incomparable ways.
Community and relationships are crucial in developing as leaders and scholars together in this community of practice. A time of investing in each other, along with being invested in has been so restorative. I feel that the vision God has placed on my heart has been affirmed, refreshed, and reinvigorated.
The course addresses important, even crucial issues of leadership and not only provides a framework for development and resources but put it all out to us in a context of intimate reliance on God.
The reading, the exercises, and the dialog begins to help one understand what it means to be a leader, including being a spiritual leader.
I was so blessed at how there was so much room for the Spirit to move. We not only learned valuable content, but we grew in our relationship with God, and with each other.
This course was invaluable in helping me to understand the main goals of the MAGL program. It grounded some of our big ideas into reality and allowed us as cohort members to embrace a deep and profound level of community.
I would highly recommend the MAGL. The relationships alone are worth a lifetime of searching for the like-minded. This one week was worth years to me and I am humbled and in awe.
This time in Colorado Springs with my cohort exceeded all of my expectations. I am not exaggerating when I say it was life changing.
For those who are looking for further equipping in the area of leadership with a dual focus (personal and communal) this is the best course available. Do not miss the opportunity to learn from practitioners in the field and competent professors.
Prior to this course, I was uncertain about moving forward and found
in the context of community a strong sense of God's presence and
direction. The lectures from the instructors were life-shaping and gave
me new language and categories to understand the journey Christ is
inviting me to. I am moving forward with a greater sense of purpose and
joy in my studies at Fuller.
