Being a student at Fuller has strengthened my faith and my walk with Christ. The community of learners here at Fuller has blessed me beyond words. Their love for God and their passion to love people have motivated me in my own ministry. I have learned through them to be teachable and stay teachable; to not approach Scripture with my preconceived ideas and notions, but to allow Scripture to speak to me. Just when you think you have it figured out someone will come along and push your mind even further. Most importantly, I've learned it's okay to not have all the answers, but its never okay to stop searching.
Over the past two years I have had so many amazing instructors. Dr. Sanders in Ethics, Dr. Johnson in History, Dr.Vincent/Dr.Ireland in Systematic Theology and the list goes on...too many to mention. But the instructor who has inspired me the most is Professor Peter Rodgers. He is not only a passionate scholar for the Word, but a passionate pastor for people. His example of both the importance of study and the importance of loving and supporting one another is beyond what I could have ever expected at Fuller. He holds his students to a high academic standard, while getting to know them and praying for them. Professor Rodgers has taught me that quality study is of the utmost importance in my ministry, but his example has shown me that it is nothing without the love of Christ.
