The Office of Presbyterian
Ministries offers many ways for students to grow spiritually through Christian
community and worship. We seek to be a
campus ministry that emphasizes the importance of spiritual formation. Spiritual life options include:
- Monday Worship in the Catalyst
Our chapel service
is an informal time of worship that normally includes refreshments, music,
prayer, community building, and a talk on the theme chosen for the
year. Typically held Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Catalyst building, it is open to all members of
the Fuller community. - Prayer Retreats
We offer three
prayer retreats at the Los Angeles Arboretum each year that provide extended time
for rest, prayer, and reflection on Scripture. - Weekend Retreat
Our annual weekend
retreat is a wonderful time to visit the mountains and build community
with one another while enjoying rest, recreation, prayer, and various
talks from a guest speaker. - Social Activities and
Events
Each quarter we offer social activities to support community
building among students. These
might include bowling trips, beach days, barbecues, baseball games,
movies, plays, parties, or other outings. In addition to the weekend retreat, we host two other annual
events: a fall barbecue for new students and an end-of-the-year banquet
to honor graduates of our community. - Small Groups
The Company of New
Pastors is a small group for Presbyterian Church (USA) MDiv students in the
ordination process. Members of this
spiritual formation group commit to monthly meetings and daily spiritual
disciplines. Other small group gatherings
might include happy hour outings and lunch support groups. - Spiritual
Mentoring
The Spiritual Life
Team seeks to provide mentoring and pastoral care to new students at
Fuller and other new members of our community. - Mission Outreach
Our weekly chapel service is viewed as an outreach to campus. We also work to
connect students to different church internships and occasionally provide
service project opportunities.
