team-marion,jpgDr. Sarah DeBoard Marion’s team is interested in understanding how the brain functions in the absence of pathological conditions. The overall goal of the project is to characterize the performance of healthy older adults on tasks that require interhemispheric and frontal-executive functioning, and additionally to compare their performance to a younger cohort. Thus, her lab has a project currently underway investigating age-related changes in neurocognitive functioning in normally aging individuals.  It is hoped that this study will be the beginning of a long-term investigation of the aging process.  Age related conditions such as dementia, and possible methods of intervention or prevention for neurocognitive decline in older adults.
