
Saul and Pilar Cruz-Ramos are
the co directors of Armoniá ministries in Mexico city. He is a licensed
psychologist and a graduate of the University of Mexico. They have two
children, Eidi and Saul Cruz, who are psychologists and serve in the
ministries with them. Armoniá was founded in 1987 on a garbage dump at
a slum in the Jalalpa ravine, a violent and very impoverished
neighborhood in Mexico City. Since then Armoniá ministries has founded
five communities to empower the poor to achieve a better standard of
living. Saul and Pilar have worked together in the integration of
faith, mission, and psychology for a total of 25 years. Professional
services offered by Saul Cruz include: conjoint or separate family
psychotherapy, group therapy, training and supervision of licensed
psychotherapists in applied services of care and counsel to the poor,
also consultation for other professionals, pastors and community
leaders. Another facet of the Armoniá’s work takes place in Oaxaca,
southeast of Mexico, where Armoniá has created the Armoniá Indigenous
Mexican Scholars Program (AIMS), which seeks to give opportunities to
excellent students from indigenous backgrounds.
