The MA in Worship and Music Ministry is a practical degree designed to address the learning needs of students currently in musical worship leadership or to prepare those intending to work in such contexts, particularly within the local church.  Students will incorporate biblical and theological studies, practical theology, and cultural literacy, in addition to specialized studies in worship and music ministry.


Distinctives
Distinctive features of this degree include music leadership studios designed to enhance the student's abilities within the context of a mentoring relationship and an integrative master's project that is linked to a supervised ministry experience.

Students pursuing the MA in Worship and Music Ministry degree should already have a strong background in music.

Normal Progression
This degree can be completed in two years.  However, many pursue the program on a part-time basis and thereby extend their study over a longer period of time. In addition to the daytime schedule and normal ten-week quarters, many evening courses and intensive ten-day courses are offered regularly, making possible a more flexible program of study.

Ministries
The MA in Worship and Music Ministry degree is designed to prepare students to serve as music ministers, worship leaders, or directors of worship arts at their local church.

Further Studies
This degree does not solely prepare students for doctoral studies.
