Master of Divinity
144 units
The Master of Divinity degree equips students for church
leadership and pastoral ministry, and provides an excellent academic and
biblical foundation for the pursuit of advanced theological degrees. The
MDiv
prepares graduates for ordination in virtually every denomination , as well as
leadership positions in parachurch ministries and educational institutions.
A variety of concentrations are offered: Recovery
Ministry, Christian Formation and Discipleship; Cross-Cultural Studies;
Multicultural Ministries; Family Pastoral Care and Counseling; Youth, Family,
and Culture; Family Life Education; Worship and Music Ministry; and Worship, Theology, and the Arts.
The MDiv requires the successful completion of 144 quarter units. In
addition to full-time and part-time study at the main campus in Pasadena,
options are also available for taking up to 16 units in a combination of online
and individualized distance learning courses. Depending on the desired
concentration, this degree may be earned in
its entirety at our Northwest, Menlo Park, and Southwest extension campuses.

 Applicants for the Master of
Divinity program in the School of Theology must submit the following:
Official transcripts of all postsecondary schools
attended, showing a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited institution of
higher learning, with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 or
above.
-
Evidence of personal maturity as communicated through three references (one of which must be a pastoral reference), and the applicant's
religious autobiography
-
Applicants to the Worship and Music Ministry concentration must to submit an additional statement and
complete a written music theory test. A performance audition is also required. Contact the
Brehm Center for more information.
-
Applicants to the Worship, Theology, and the Arts concentration must submit an additional
statement, and are invited to submit supporting materials (e.g., portfolio
of previous work, writing samples, performance videos, CDs or audiotapes,
etc.). Supporting materials are used primarily to help the Brehm Center
become better aquatinted with the applicant as a potential incoming student.
Since the worship, theology, and arts concentrations are primarily academic
and integrative, and not part of a studio-art degree, the artistic
sophistication of supporting materials are rarely used to influence an
applicant’s admittance into the program. Contact the
Brehm Center for more information.

English language test for admission to the HCS program, if admitted, the level
of English proficiency at the beginning of the program must be assessed by
taking the TOEFL,

before registering for the first quarter of studies at Fuller.
