The School of Theology offers several types of grants:
Need-based GrantsAll students in the M.A. or M.Div. programs are eligible to apply. The average need-based grant in 2006-2007 covered 16% of tuition. Students must show financial aid eligibility.
African American Ministries GrantsAll students with a Special admissions status in the African American Ministries program are eligible to apply. In addition, students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. The average African American Ministries grant in 2006-2007 covered 41% of tuition.
Latino Leadership GrantsAll students in the Hispanic Church Studies program are eligible to apply. The average Hispanic American Ministries grant in 2006-2007 covered 54% of tuition.
Grant Eligibility
Theology Master of Arts Programs, Master of Divinity, and Master of Theology Degree Programs
- Enrolled in a degree or certificate program at Fuller Seminary.
- Be admitted with a Regular, Probation, or Special admission status. Students admitted provisionally are not eligible to receive financial aid disbursements.
- Enroll for a minimum of 24 Pasadena campus units during the academic year, summer through spring quarters.
- Maintain Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Zero(0) unit regular courses, such as Field Ed, ARE NOT counted towards your grant enrollment.
- Zero (0) unit ESL courses count as 4 units each, up to a maximum of 12 units in any one quarter.
- All grants are based upon full-time enrollment. The Office of Financial Aid determines if you are enrolled full-time on a quarterly basis. If you do not enroll as a full-time student in a quarter your grant for that quarter will be prorated according to the schedule below.
- Grant money will not be paid during a quarter in which the number of units taken is less than the number of units required to maintain half-time enrollment for your program (see schedule below).
- If your grant is not paid in a quarter because you are not enrolled at a half-time level (see previous rule), you may petition to move that unpaid grant amount to a subsequent quarter in the same financial aid year (summer - spring) as long as no other grant or scholarship money has already been awarded for that subsequent quarter.

African American Studies & Latino Leadership Grant
