School-Wide Scholarships
Alumni Merit Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship must demonstrate an unusual ability to contribute to the field of Christian mental health following graduation.
Amadeus Scholarship: This scholarships is reserved for returning students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who demonstrate financial need.
Annual Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded at the Dean’s discretion.
Deans Scholarship: Students how receive this scholarship must be first year students who demonstrate academia competence, strong Christian faith and a commitment to the integration of psychology and theology.
Walter and Reba Dilworth Scholarship: Students on an international visa who show high academic achievement and have definite plans to return to their home country are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Dunavant/Reeves Scholarship: Students who apply for this scholarship should have a strong interest in the area of family studies.
Fred H. Fiske Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship must demonstrate financial need and be able to articulate via a written essay a vision for the integration of psychology and theology.
David Allen Hubbard Achievement Award: Students who apply for this scholarship must be graduating students who have accomplishments that are clearly reflected in academic, spiritual and professional goals.
International Student Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship must be on an international visa, show high academic achievement and have definite plans to return to their home country.
Minority Scholarship: Students who apply for this scholarship be a member of a group that is under-represented in the field of psychology. This scholarship is also merit based.
Duane and Kathryn Renken Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a genuine commitment to Jesus Christ and a motivation by the Holy Spirit to integrate their faith and training to glorify God.
Randall Lehmann Sorenson Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship are selected by the integration committee.
Stafford/Enright Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to international visa students who demonstrate financial need.
Lee Edward Travis Award: Students who apply for this scholarship must write an outstanding integration paper.
Clinical Psychology Program Scholarships
Angehr/Westbrook/McMillen (NEED): This scholarship provides assistance to students who maintain a 3.5 GPA, show evidence of a life of Christian leadership, and demonstrate financial need.
School of Psychology Auxiliary Committee Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled at least half-time, are preparing for ministry, and who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
Julie Banks Memorial Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship must be Australian nationals who have three or more years of work and ministry experience and are enrolled as Ph.D. or Psy.D. students. They must also be able to demonstrate how their interests and ministry goals focus on an interface between the Church and society. Preference will be given to students who plan to return to Australia upon completion of their degree.
Carlsberg Family Scholarship: Students who apply for this scholarship must show an interest in health psychology and/or brain function.
John P. Davis Jr. Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship requires applicants to be deeply involved in personal growth through therapy as well as other means and be committed to the deepening of one’s spiritual life.
DePree-Bootjack Fellowship: The SOP Dean and the Director of the DePree Leadership Center choose the recipients of this merit-based fellowship.
Evelyn Freed Scholarship: This fellowship is awarded to 4th and 5th year SOP students.
Frank and Evelyn Freed Scholarship: Students must demonstrate a genuine commitment to glorify God by integrating personal faith and professional practice.
Margaret Gallagher Jubilee Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to international visa students from developing nations who are enrolled as Ph.D. or Psy.D. students and who plan to return to their home country upon completion of their degrees. Applicants must also be able to describe their plans for ministering in their home country.
Arch Hart Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship either must be from Africa, desire to work in Africa, or be African-American. They also must demonstrate giftedness in building bridges between psychology and the Church and have a desire to use their psychological training to enhance the ministry of the Church.
Clare W. Headington Scholarship: Students who apply for this scholarship should be 2nd or 3rd year student in the clinical psychology program and demonstrate ability to relate the Christian faith and psychological principles to the emotional problems of individuals and families
Heavenly Treasure Jubilee Scholarship: This scholarship is reserved for international students. Preference is given to students from Asia.
Grace Li Jubilee Scholarship: Reciepeints of this scholarship are international student on a visa from a developing country.
H. Newton and Suzanna Malony Scholarship: Students apply should be from an ethnic manority and demonstrate academic success. Preference will be given to African-American students.
Gene Wesley Pfrimmer Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship is given to first through fifth year students who actively promote a sense of cooperation and unity among members of the graduate union with fairness and justice and demonstrate financial need.
Edith Munger Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to female psychology doctoral students in their second through sixth years who are pursuing their degrees as a second career.
Ruth Scholarship for Women: This scholarship is awarded to female students who maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
John Stauffer Memorial Merit Fellowship: Students who apply for this scholarship should maintain an outstanding academic record, have high potential for professional and scientific creativity, demonstrate leadership skills, have research papers presented at professional conferences and have published articles in psychology journals, manifest a clear commitment to public service, be able to articulate clear professional goals, lead in an identifiable way through the writing of grant proposals or design of new models for delivering human services
Tan Family Jubilee Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship are international visa students from a developing country who have definite plans to return to the home country to provide mental health and/or ministerial services.
Thriving Youth Scholars Fellowship: Recipients of this scholarship must be called to serve children and/or youth.
In addition to these scholarships, there are five multi-year, merit-based fellowships available to incoming students that are chosen by the School of Psychology Dean and are renewable for up to four years. These fellowships are:

Marriage and Family Therapy Program Scholarships
Ray Anderson Integration Award: Students who apply for this scholarship should demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and clinical practice.
Marriage and Family Therapy Auxiliary Committee Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who are enrolled at least half-time, are preparing for ministry, and who demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.
Jeff Balswick Memorial Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship should demonstrate interest and/or experience in the application of Marriage and Family studies and/or therapy in cross-cultural contexts. They must also demonstrate financial aid.
Department Community Award: Students who apply for this scholarship have been judged by peers to best embody the ideals of servant leadership in fostering Christian community in the student body.
Dennis Guernsey Memorial Scholarship: Recipients of this scholarship must demonstrate academic excellence, provide a letter of support from a pastor or spiritual director, and provide a written essay addressing ministry involvement, self-care, and evidence of application of clinical theory to his or her ministry practice.
Vermeer Scholarship: This scholarship is for incoming students with a vision for ministry in the church. They must have a minimum GPA of 3.3.
