Master’s Level Scholarships
School of Theology Alumni/ae Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a School of Theology student based on merit.
Angehr/Westbrook/McMillen Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded to the student who demonstrates Christian leadership, financial need and maintains a 3.5 GPA.
Jose Arreguin Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to Hispanic students in the School of Theology who seek to serve the Lord in any form of ministry suitable to the nature of his/her call.
School of Theology Auxiliary Committee Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to School of Theology students who are at least half-time status and demonstrate both academic achievement and financial need.
Glenn and Margaret Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund was established by Glenn W. Barker, first Provost of the seminary, in loving memory of his wife Margaret. A student must be committed to a local church or parachurch ministry. Special consideration will be given to students who are members of Grace Chapel or Lake Ave. Congregational Church.
Barnabas Scholarship. This endowed fund has been established for School of Theology and School of Intercultural Studies students. It is the intent of the donors that the recipients not only benefit financially, but that the grants serve to illustrate the biblical model of Barnabas, who was a quiet enabler.
James and Barbara Bere Merit Scholarship. These scholarships provide assistance to master’s-level students who show exceptional promise as full-time vocational ministers or scholars, maintain at least a 3.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.
Edwin O. Bergdahl Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to and M.Div. student who demonstrates financial need.
Heather Marie Bergman Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to second career African American women who is able to describe their vision for ministry after their seminary education as well as one’s previous/current ministry experience. They must also demonstrate financial need.
Booth Evangelism Award. This scholarship is award to an School of Theology student chosen the basis of merit.
Bronson International Scholarship. Endowed by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bronson, this scholarship assistance is provided for foreign nationals who plan to return to their home country to more effectively communicate the Gospel to those of their own culture
Burr/Martens Minority Scholarship. This award, established by Larry Burr in honor of his parents, is designated for African-American students over the age of 30 pursuing the ministry.
Burr/Roth Scholarship Award. This award, established by Mr. and Mrs. Albert L. Roth in honor of Larry Burr and in recognition of his faithful service to others and to the seminary, is given annually to a worthy and needy student.
Frederick W. and Bernice S. Bush Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to Master of Divinity students who demonstrate significant financial need.
Call Family Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to students who have a genuine commitment to Jesus Christ and a deep commitment to integrate faith and training.
Carnell Scholarship. This award is a returning School of Theology student who displays servant leadership and demonstrates financial need.
Edward & Barbara Danks Scholarship. This scholarship is for PCUSA ministerial candidates, who have participated in an international missions project and demonstrate creative support for missions in the local church.
Hugh and Hazel Darling Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to students who attend full-time and demonstrate significant financial need.
Dean’s Scholarship. Entering Fuller students are awarded based on prior academic achievement, and must take 36 units in the academic year, as well as maintain a 3.5 GPA.
DePree-Chi Fellowship. This merit-based fellowship is chosen by the Dean of the School of Theology and the Director of the DePree Leadership Center.
Dunnavant/Reeves Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to master’s-level students who maintain a 3.80 GPA and can clearly articulate personal ministry goals.
Charles Thomas Epps, Sr. Scholarship. This scholarship is available to African-American M.Div. students who are pursuing a call to parish ministry in an urban setting. Preference is given to Baptist students.
Margaret Gallagher Jubilee Scholarship. This award is for international students from a developing nation who plan to minister in their home country.
Rose R. and Genevieve Galuteria Christian Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to master’s-level students who have a genuine commitment to Jesus Christ and a deep commitment to integrate faith and training. Preference is given to Hawaiian or international students.
Walt Gerber Scholarship. This scholarship is for M.Div. students with preference given to PCUSA students.
Homer and Isabelle Goddard Lay Ministry Scholarship. Given by Wallace and Margaret Larson, this scholarship fund was established in honor of Homer and Isabelle Goddard in recognition of and appreciation for their lifelong commitment to lay ministry. A student must be a 2nd or 3rd year M.Div student with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.5 and have a special interest in discipleship as a lay person. This student must also demonstrate financial need.
Eugene & Lydia Hermann Scholarship for Pastoral Preparation. This Scholarship is for M.Div. students who are candidates for ordination or licensing for pastoral ministry in either the Presbyterian or Lutheran church.
Hispania Award. Students are chosen by the School of Theology faculty committee on the basis of merit.
Hooper/Keefe Preaching Scholarship. School of Theology students are chosen for this scholarship on the basis of merit.
Hubbard Merit Award. School of Theology students are chosen for this scholarship on the basis of merit.
Jayne & Frank Humberger Evangelism Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to those M.Div. students who are candidates for ordination for a ministry of evangelism in the PCUSA church.
George and Della Hummel Scholarship Fund. Established by Mrs. Della Hummel, this scholarship is given to a master’s-level student who desires to integrate faith and training and who demonstrates financial need.
Reverends Olive and Hartland Hurd Memorial Scholarship. Established by Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Hurd, this fund assists students in preparing for the local Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) pastorate.
International Student Scholarship. Given by Janet Holdcroft, out of concern about developing Christian leadership among nationals in Third World countries, this grant is awarded to a non-U.S. student who plans to return to his or her home country upon graduation.
Johnston/Yinger Scholarship Fund. Given by Mr. and Mrs. Robert Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. William Yinger in honor of their parents, this grant is awarded to School of Theology students who are interested in evangelism and social action expressed in church planting and cross-cultural and inner-city ministries.
Korean Leadership Scholarship. This scholarship provides assistance to master’s-level students (Americans or Korean nationals) who demonstrate a balance between the ministry of church leadership and human caring. In addition, recipients must show a strong commitment to bridge-building, healing, and serving the community within the church, and must work in a church in the greater Los Angeles area.
Ladd Scholarship. This award goes to the returning School of Theology student who exhibits servant leadership, commitment to Christ, as well as financial need.
Lasor Scholarship. This award goes to the returning School of Theology student who exhibits servant leadership, commitment to Christ, as well as financial need.
Lea/Pitt-Watson Scholarship. Awarded to the returning M.Div. student who is committed to service in PCUSA parishes, as well as maintenance of a 3.5 GPA.
James E. Loder Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded for full-time School of Theology students, who demonstrate financial need.
Ken Lorenz Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to returning School of Theology students who are called to Christian ministry and demonstrate financial need.
Carol Beatty Marsh Scholarship. Established by William E. Marsh in honor of his wife, this scholarship is awarded to students who seek to work in secular institutions (e.g., parachurch ministries, seeker-driven churches, or secular academic institutions, etc.). Student must maintain a 3.5 GPA., as well as demonstrate financial need.
Mildred C. McCrossan Memorial Scholarship. Given by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McCrossan and Mr. David McCrossan in honor of their mother and wife in recognition of her concerns for the local church and its leaders, this grant is awarded to a student who plans to work with a frontier mission in evangelism and church planting.
Mr. & Mrs. J.E. McGill Scholarship. Scholarship is intended for returning School of Theology students who are training for pastoral or missions ministry outside of the United States. Preference is given for international students and those training for ministry in developing nations.
Howard C. and Martha M. Miller Student Aid Fund. Established by Mr. and Mrs. Howard C. Miller to help students who have great future promise, but who are struggling with financial burdens.
Joe Nunziato Scholarship. Established by Mr. and Mrs. R. Thomas Barber in honor of Joseph S. Nunziato and his ministry in the pastorate, this award is given to a senior in the who intends to go into full-time ministry.
Parish Pulpit Award. School of Theology scholarship chosen on the basis of merit.
Norman Vincent Peale Scholarship. This endowed fund in recognition of the outstanding ministry of Norman Vincent Peale is intended to assist with the financial needs of second or third year School of Theology students preparing for the local church ministry.
Primitivo and Pilar Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled in the Hispanic Church Studies Program and who are involved in pastoral ministry, demonstrate hardship in ministry, and demonstrate financial need.
James Morton Reid/Sally Samuelson Scholarship. Established by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Samuelson, this grant is awarded to second or third year students in the School of Theology who are preparing for local church ministry.
Duane & Kathryn Renken Scholarship. Students must show a genuine commitment to Jesus Christ and to integrate faith and educational training in ministry.
Winifred Rennie Scholarship. Scholarship available for female M.Div. student, who is preparing for full-time church ministry.
Anna M. Rosewall Scholarship Award. Established by Donald A. Rosewall in fond memory of his wife and co-servant. Recipients are selected from second year students committed to evangelical ministries.
Ruth Scholarship for Women. This scholarship is awarded to a female student in the School of Theology. Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Smedes Scholarship. This scholarship is for returning School of Theology students, who display servant leadership and financial need.
Leonard S. and Carole C. Song Scholarship. Given by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard S. Song, this award is provided to worthy students preparing for the ministry. Special consideration will be given to Hawaiian students.
Stamps Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to returning School of Theology students who are called to Christian ministry and demonstrate financial need.
Dean Stephan Scholarship. This scholarship is for returning M.Div. students who intend to serve as a pastor in the United States. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Rebecca Stephan Scholarship. This scholarship is for returning Fuller students in any school, who intend to serve a U.S. church in the area of Christian education. Must maintain a GPA of 3.0.
Lloyd G. & Norah M. Thompson Memorial Scholarship. Recipients of this scholarship must be enrolled in the M.Div. or D.Min. program in the School of Theology and maintain a 3.5 GPA.
Bob Watson Scholarship. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better and are able to articulate how the Gospel can be communicated through the media and the arts.
Cary Weisiger Scholarship. Given by the congregation of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church as an expression of love in honor of Dr. Weisiger for his twelve years of faithful service, this award is presented to deserving students preparing for the pastorate. A student should be in their 2nd or 3rd year student in the School of Theology, have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and be preparing for local church ministry emphasizing preaching.
John C. and Ruby Wright Ministerial Scholarship. Established by Mr. and Mrs. Wright, this award is given to deserving students preparing for a pastoral ministry.
Doctoral Level Scholarships
Julie Banks Memorial Scholarship. Recipients of this scholarship must be an Australian nation, a Ph.D. or Th.M. student in the School of Theology, and have three or more years of work/ministry experience. Preference will be given to those who plan to return to Australian upon completion of the program.
Geoffrey W. Bromiley Church History Scholarship. Recipients must be a Ph.D. student in Church History, as well as demonstrate academic excellence.
Charles E. Carlson New Testament Scholarship. Recipients must be a Ph.D. student in New Testament Studies.
Walter and Reba Dilworth Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to International students in the School of Theology Ph.D program, who show high academic achievement and intend to return to their home country upon completion of the program.
Margaret Gallagher Jubilee Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to an School of Theology Ph.D. student from a developing nation, who plans to return to their home country upon completion of the program.
George Gay Memorial Grant. Recipient of this grant must be a U.S. citizen of Hispanic descent, who intends to minister to Hispanics through teaching.
Everett Harrison Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to Ph.D. students in the New Testament Studies concentration.
Hispanic Theological Institute. Requirements are determined by the Hispanic Church Studies Program.
Israel Rosales Hispanic Ministries Scholarship. Recipients of this scholarship must be of Hispanic descent and a returning student in the Hispanic Ministries Church Studies Department. The student must also plan to work with Hispanic communities in the United States with preference given to those students who plan to remain in the greater Los Angeles area.
Lewis Smedes Scholarship for Ph.D. Students in Christian Ethics. Recipients must be a Ph.D. student in Christian Ethics, as well as demonstrate academic excellence.
Esther & Harold Stassen Jubilee Scholarship. Recipient must be enrolled in a Ph.D. program and an international visa student from a developing nation, who intends to return to their home country upon completion of the program.
