Foster will offer a lecture at Fuller on Tuesday, June 10, following a time of worship, at 7:00 p.m. in Travis Auditorium. Foster, a well-known speaker on Christian renewal and the spiritual disciplines, will discuss his new book Life with God: Reading the Bible for Spiritual Transformation. The books will be available after the lecture for sale and signing. "Richard Foster awakens us to God's continued desire to commune with us despite the deafness of our sin-blunted ears," says David Neff, editor-in-chief of Christianity Today, about Foster's new book. "From long experience, he shows how the dynamic use of the spiritual disciplines can open our ears to God's voice." Foster is the author of several bestselling books, including Celebration of Discipline, Streams of Living Water, and Prayer: Finding the Heart's True Home, which was a Christianity Today Book of the Year and winner of the Gold Medallion Award from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association. He is the founder of Renovaré, an intrachurch movement committed to the renewal of the Church in all its expressions, and editor of The Renovaré Spiritual Formation Bible. The June 10 lecture is cosponsored by Fuller' Doctor of Ministry program and the Fuller Bookstore. For more information, please contact dmin@fuller.edu or 626-584-5315. |
