2004 Summer Newsletter

This summer, we will have some familiar faces returning to teach for us. Forrest Baird, Professor of Philosophy at Whitworth College, is once again offering his Christianity and Western Thought course, a wonderful historical and contemporary perspective of the thoughts and ideas, which have shaped our relationship between Christ and culture. Jim Davis is returning this year and will be teaching New Testament 2, Acts-Revelations for us in July. Jim has taught for both Fuller Northern California and FNW in the past. Jeff Keuss is not only returning to teach an Ethics class for us in August, he is also returning from Scotland to Seattle and we will be seeing more of him throughout the year.

A new face this summer is Grayson Carter, who is regular faculty from our Fuller Southwest Extension. Grayson, a Theology/Church History professor like Charlie Scalise, will be teaching Theology of C.S. Lewis. This course, according to the Director of the Southwest Extension, has ìpacked them in.î Note that this is an early summer course held in June.

When I asked Bryan Burton what class he wished he could teach here but hasnít, he smiled and said, ìPneumatology!î the study of the Holy Spirit. If you have a place for an elective in your program, check this course out.

Whether it is keeping up your Greek skills with Greek Reading, studying Basic Counseling or locking in on one of the cohort courses taught by two dynamic Whitworth College professors, this summer at FNW has wonderful opportunities for sitting at the feet of some great educators.

Cohort Application Deadline Extended: The deadline to apply for the M.Div cohort beginning Fall 2004 has been extended to Friday, July 30^th. Please pick up forms at the FNW office.
