In keeping with Fuller’s desire to be a positive influence in our community and to seek peace and justice in our world, the Food Distribution Program serves students and families from the Pasadena area in their times of difficulty. Currently, the program serves about 450 households a month. The Fuller Food Distribution Program has been providing food to low-income families of Pasadena for over twenty years. Unfortunately, with a struggling economy families throughout California and the entire country are turning to food banks, many of them for the first time. In the past six months, the average number of families who participate in the Fuller Food Distribution Program has grown by nearly 50%. To serve our friends and neighbors more effectively during these difficult times, the Food Distribution Program now distributes food on a weekly basis and receives food donations from other local grocery stores in order to meet the increased demand. However, as the economy continues to suffer, the Food Distribution Program continues to grow. In order to meet the growing need, Fuller depends on the generous gifts of individuals and organizations from the community and beyond. |
