Low Residency Programs

Programs such as the MAGL, DMIN, and DMISS allow international students to complete the majority of their program in their home country. Students in these programs are typically required to attend classes in the US for only two weeks each year. However, all international students must obtain an appropriate visa before coming to the US for short term classes. The Visa Waiver Program or a tourist visa does not allow for study in an academic program. You must have a visa that relates to the purpose of your visit to the US. Misuse of a tourist visa can have serious consequences.

Unfortunately, US regulations do not currently allow students in these types of programs to obtain a long term visa that would allow them to reenter the country on the same visa each year. Your visa will only be valid for the amount of time you are taking classes in the US. You must apply for a new visa each time prior to coming to the US.
