Q: Are there any additional admissions requirements that international students must complete?


A: Yes. International students wishing to obtain an F1 Student Visa do have additional admissions requirements including Declaration of Financial Support and the TOEFL examination according to each program you intend to enroll.

 


Q: What is the application process?

 

A:  Follow the following steps:

  1. Submit a completed application to the Admission Office (http://www.fuller.edu/admiss/)

  2. Processing the completed application will take approximately two to three weeks (after receiving all the documents from you). 

  3. The admissions office communicates with you once you have been accepted

  4. The International Services Office (ISO) revises your declaration of financial support (DFS).

  5. Once the DFS is accepted, a packet which includes your I-20 A-B, Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant (F-1) Student Status, letter of acceptance addressed to the consulate in your country, International Student Arrival Form and other information will be mailed to you at the address you indicated on the application. Please read all of the documents carefully and follow the instructions.

 

Q:  What do I do after I receive the I-20?


A:  Once the I-20 is received, you are required to pay the I-901, Student and Exchange Visitor Fee (SEVIS FEE). The form and instructions were included in your Acceptance Packet, but you may also pay online at the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement web site. If you cannot pay the SEVIS fee, please contact us and we will pay if for you and charge your student account. You must have proof you have paid the I-901 fee in order to apply for an F-1/Student Visa at the nearest US Embassy. For further information on Student Visas, please visit the Department of State web site. 

 

Q:  When should I plan to arrive at Fuller?


A:  Plan your arrival in the US after you have obtained an F-1/Student Visa. Department of Homeland Security regulations allow student arrival up to 30 days prior to the start date indicated in section six of the I-20. You should plan to arrive no later than the date specified on the I-20.

Q:  What is the minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score?


A:  If English is not your first second language, you are required to take the TOEFL. The following scores will be required: 


ESL: 533 (200 computer) - 583 (237 computer)

All Masters level programs, except MAGL: 587 (240 computer)

All Doctoral, ThM, and MAGL: 600 (250 computer)

Q: Is there an application deadline for international students?

 

A: Although there is not a specific application deadline, international students are encouraged to begin the application process at least six months before their expected date of enrollment. Students must allow ample time to complete the admissions process and then apply for an F1 student visa through the proper U.S. embassy or consulate.

 


Q: Is tuition higher for international students at Fuller?


A: No. All Fuller‘s student pay the same tuition, regardless of nationality.

 


Q: Can international students apply for on-campus employment?

 

A: Yes. Students holding an F1 student visa may apply for on-campus employment once attending Fuller. However, on-campus employment is not guaranteed and should not be included in your budged. The on-campus employment are limited to 20 hours of employment per week. 


Q: Does Fuller have an International Student Association?


A: Yes. Fuller has an active international student concern committer that holds meetings and organizes special events. Some American students also attend theses meetings and events because the aim of the ISCC (International Concerns Committee) is inclusion and interaction rather than isolation between domestic and foreign students.
