A Brief Guide to finding Dissertations and Theses

Here are some suggestions for finding dissertations.

Print copies of dissertations written at Fuller Search the Fuller catalog
In the
Thesis Note field put:
     Fuller Thesis D.Min. (or another degree)
Keyword field put:
     Other topical key word(s)

(For other schools' dissertations held by Fuller library, in the thesis note field, just put the degree, without Fuller)

Free full text online copies of some dissertations written at Fuller. 
(These mostly are 1995 or newer, D.Min and Ph.D. and D.Miss.  Most Korean D.Min have not been submitted to UMI/Proquest.)

Free .pdf of D.Min. theses from over 100 seminaries Fuller online catalog includes over 6200 full-text eBook dissertations and conference papers from the Theological Research Exchange Network.  The dissertations are from other seminaries and universities, mostly D.Min. and masters level theses.  To find these, search the library catalog, limiting your search to eBooks; search Theological Research Exchange Network to see them all, or add other keywords.

Pay for full text online copies of some disserations.  (These sites search UMI/Proquest for dissertations, mostly American, mostly doctoral.  Excerpts may be previewed for free; the full text may be purchased for $32 each.) http://wwwlib.umi.com/dissertations/gateway  - search for dissertations from all institutions, but only for the most recent 2 years, and order .pdf copies

Some Dissertations and Theses may be obtained through Inter-Library Loan, but because there are few copies, often students must visit the school where the thesis was written.  You'll always want to call ahead when you are visiting a distant library to find out what access you will have, and if the materials you need are available.
