Typical Students Students in this program desire to be well prepared biblically and theologically in a very flexible program to serve in the church or the marketplace more effectively. Further Studies The MA in Theology can serve as an academic prerequisite for doctoral studies (DMin or PhD). If you are interested in PhD studies, you are strongly encouraged to do the Biblical Studies and Theology emphasis, which will provide you with the necessary background in the biblical languages, a knowledge of which is required for entrance into most PhD in Theology programs. Please consult the requirements for your desired doctoral program to ensure this degree meets the academic prerequisites for admission. Online Options Students may take up to 48 units through Distributed Learning. | Normal Progression The MA in Theology degree can be completed in two years. However, many students pursue the program on a part-time basis and thereby extend their study over a longer period of time. In addition to the daytime schedule and normal ten-week quarters,a full range of evening courses and intensive ten-day courses are offered regularly, making possible a flexible program of study. Ministries The degree prepares students for work in the church, parachurch, or the marketplace. Locations The MA in Theology degree can be earned in Pasadena, as well as the regional campuses, including Colorado Springs, Houston, Irvine, Menlo Park, Phoenix, Sacramento, and Seattle. Partial coursework can be done at any Fuller campus or via Distributed Learning.
