The Ecumenical Council of Pasadena Area Congregations (ECPAC) honored Joe Colletti, executive director of Fuller’s Office for Urban Initiatives, as “Person of the Year” at their annual banquet in February.
ECPAC, which facilitates religious and community partnerships to serve those in need, recognized Colletti’s accomplishments through the years to help the homeless and enhance community and economic development. Colletti received much additional recognition, including certificates of recognition from Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and the California State Senate; certificates presented on behalf of Los Angeles County, the California State Assembly, and the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles; and a certificate of recognition from the office of U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff.
In addition to directing the Office for Urban Initiatives, Colletti, a Fuller alumnus, also serves as an adjunct professor of Urban Studies at Fuller. The Office for Urban Initiatives advances Fuller’s commitment to resolving issues facing urban communities through faith-based public and private partnerships. As a result of these partnerships, the Office for Urban Initiatives provides students with the opportunity to strengthen their education through community-based research, practical community service, and spiritual integration.
