Using the scientist-practitioner model, the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology blends clinical training with innovative research. This program is normally accomplished in six years and requires the completion of at least 300 units. In the Ph.D. program, students are awarded a Master of Arts in Psychology after completing 88 selected units and earn a Master of Arts in Christian Leadership after completing the 76 required theology units. Course work is divided into the following categories:General psychology-- 40 units

Integration-- 20 units
Clinical psychology-- 36 units
Field Training-- 94 units
Electives-- 14 units
Theology-- 56 units (minimum)
Fuller places a high emphasis on field training. Students gain supervised training through a variety of placements in the greater Los Angeles area, including Fuller's Psychological and Family Services clinic. Students will spend a minimum of 1,000 hours engaging in a variety of clinical experiences including psychological assessment and diverse interventions.
The Clinical Psychology curriculum follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association, through which the Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology degree is approved.
