Our Admission Requirements reflect the desire to:
Maintain the high academic quality of the program and insure that your academic work at Fuller is respected elsewhere. Our program meets the high standards set by Association of Theological Schools (ATS), which provides our accreditation.
Create a learning community where experienced ministry practitioners engage each other and world-class experts to address critical ministry issues and make real, practical contribution to the shaping of the Church in our changing world.
Admissions Requirements:
- A Master of Divinity or its equivalent, or a Master of Arts of a theological nature of at least 96 quarter units (64 semester units) from an ATS accredited school. To learn more about M.Div. equivalency please contact our admissions advisor at 626.584.5318 or dmin-advising@fuller.edu.
- A professional full-time ministry position. The DMin program is designed for ministry professionals to continue to learn and grow without having to leave their ministry context.
- A minimum of three years in full-time ministry experience after receiving the M.Div. or M.A. degree.
- A grade point average of 3.0 or higher (3.0 on 4.0 scale)
- Three quarters of Greek or two quarters of Hebrew (This requirement may be met through a course in the D.Min. program.)
- Evidence of academic writing proficiency – A 1250-1750 word (5-7 page) ministry reflection paper (see the online application for details). You may submit the ministry reflection paper electronically with the application, or you may email a copy the DMin office.
- A TOEFL score of 600 (paper test) OR 250 (computer test) OR 100 (internet test) is required for applicants for whom English is a second language and who have not earned a Bachelor degree taught in English in the U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand, or Canada. The TOEFL’s web site is www.toefl.com. Note: Applicants for the Latino Ministry Cohort are not required to take the TOEFL exam.
