Doctor of Ministry Candidate
International students come to Fuller Theological Seminary with high
expectations for themselves and what God will accomplish as a result of their
advanced studies. Fuller Seminary shares these high expectations and believes
our international students play a vital role in fulfilling the Great
Commission, shining the light of Christ through their very lives into every
corner of the globe.
These
students include Rosamaría Maldonado, a third-year student from Mexico, who is
pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree. She came to Fuller planning to work
during the summer months in order to meet her financial obligations as well as
school loans. However, covering the cost of tuition continues to be a
challenge.
"Last summer, I was unable to work because my mother and my older
sister required my presence in Mexico due to their medical conditions,"
says Rosamaría. "My mother has Parkinson's disease and my sister had heart
surgery. They both needed family support and I wanted to be near them.
Consequently, I confronted a financial challenge, as I needed to pay my
tuition."
As she continues to support her family and receive a Fuller education,
Rosamaría has witnessed the blessing of people working together toward a bigger
mission. She says, "I am grateful to witness God's provision through
donors, who without knowing me readily offered their generous support through
the Fuller scholarship program."
