Cardinal Roger M. Mahony will speak at Fuller's all-seminary chapel service on Wednesday, May 13, at 10:00 a.m. The service will be followed by a time for questions and discussion with the Cardinal, from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m. Both gatherings will be held in Travis Auditorium at Fuller's Pasadena campus.
Cardinal Mahony, who is an American Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church, will share a homily in the chapel service about providing pastoral care for all of our neighbors, including persons from beyond our borders. The Cardinal is known for offering a caring and consistent voice regarding immigration issues.
Cardinal Mahony was appointed the fourth Archbishop of Los Angeles in 1985, and was named a Cardinal in 1991 by Pope John Paul II. His civic and justice involvements have included membership on the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerants, and the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
