Internship for:
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
Students who are seeking ordination from their denomination or students in certain emphases may be required to complete one (1) of the following CPE courses. Also, students who are interested in a career as a chaplain may choose to participate in CPE.
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is a course offered by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE), a nationally recognized association that trains and certifies women and men for pastoral ministry in clinical settings such as hospitals, hospice organizations, correctional facilities and other contexts. Fuller recognizes CPE as an excellent training program and offers up to twelve units of Advanced Standing for Fuller students who take CPE. Credit from a CPE course may be used to fulfill the MDiv FE2 Field Education requirement.
Internship Requirements (choose one of the following):
- FE509 One (1) quarter, full-time
- FE510 Two (2) quarters, half-time (at least 20 hours per week)
- FE511 Three (3) quarters, part-time (less than 20 hours per week)
