David Augustus

Master of Divinity Candidate David Augustus

When God gets a hold of one’s life, a radical change of direction often follows. At least it certainly did for Fuller student David Augustus.  After experiencing deep learning and growing in his faith within the context of a small group at his church, David knew God had something else in mind for him.

After several years of working as a successful attorney in the Houston area, David experienced the pull from his family during extended business trips to New York.He came to realize "the juxtaposition between the ways of the world and the ways of God…and out of this struggle I experienced a clarity of call to a vocation within the Church to challenge people with the message of the kingdom of God just as I had been challenged."

David is now working towards his Master of Divinity and ordination in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) with hopes of being part of a prophetic voice to God’s people. He chose to study at Fuller because of the unique combination of academic rigor along with the multi-denominational background of the faculty and students which has "certainly provided a fertile ground for such challenges." David has been blessed by Fuller's scholarship donors. "My family and I wish more people saw such support as a ministry."
