Dear Alums,
What a wonderful season this is as we set aside time to give thanks. I am particularly grateful this year for the privilege of attending the Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization in Cape Town last month. What an amazing gift it was to hear story after story of the Lord's work around the world...and many of those telling their stories were Fuller alumni. We enjoyed wonderful times of worship together, which ended so beautifully in a Communion service where we prayed the Lord's Prayer together in our own languages. It was moving to see 5,000 people from 170 countries all rise to their feet as we sang together "In Christ Alone."
It was certainly a highlight to enjoy a day together with 39 other Fuller alumni, faculty, and friends learning about South Africa and particularly the days of apartheid from a Fuller grad, Clint LeBruyns. I know you will enjoy reading Clint's reflection on this below. Fuller alumni are a blessing to me and to so many others.
May you rejoice with others from every tribe and nation in this confidence:
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand.
Blessings,
Mary Hubbard Given
