    • PREPARATORY STATUS

The DMiss Preparatory Status enables master degree applicants who do not  meet the prerequisite requirement in graduate-level coursework for direct admission to the Doctor of Missiology degree,  to apply and have their application reviewed.  The Admissions Committee will make recommendations on any outstanding prerequisites in missiology and/or theology, which the applicant is welcome to take at Fuller or any other accredited institution.  Under this status applicants are afforded the knowledge of future acceptance to a DMiss cohort once any prerequisite master level coursework has been successfully completed.*  Once this is confirmed, the student's status becomes a regular admission and the student may begin the program with an upcoming cohort.

*Preparatory Status Admit students must successfully complete the prerequisite coursework with a GPA of 3.4 or higher within 2 years. Failure to do so will cause the conditional admission to the DMiss program to be revoked.

A student may petition to waive the TOEFL requirement if a baccalaureate degree was earned recently from a recognized institution where English was the language of instruction. For further details regarding a waiver, the student should email the Admissions Department.

      Visa Requirements

DMiss students are required to attend two 2-week seminars as part of their coursework for the DMiss program.

According to the U.S. Department of State, if you are going to the U.S. and your course of study is more than 18 hours a week, you will need a student [F-1] visa. This rule also applies to students in any of the tourist visa waiver countries.

These students are also required to submit a financial guarantee. The financial guarantee must be from the source(s) that will actually provide the funds for study and living expenses.

Additional information on the F-1 and I-20 visa documents  has been made available by the International Services Office.  Please contact them for further information regarding visa requirements, financial guarantee information and any arrival details; you can reach the International Services office by calling 626-584-5398 or by emailing hpurtee@fuller.edu.
