June 28, 2011

Greetings Alums,

The rhythm of the academic year is a wonderful thing. Once again we have honored a record number of students completing degrees at Fuller. More than 500 walked across the stage at our Pasadena commencement, and more than 800 were eligible--100 of them graduating from regional campuses. At the Pasadena ceremony five graduates shared their stories, and it is always moving to hear of the work, hopes, and dreams of our alumni. Sherwood Lingenfelter offered the benediction at his final commencement as provost; we are grateful for his years of service and commitment to Fuller and our Lord.

We sang "To God Be the Glory," which is not always sung with such a grand organ accompaniment as we had at Pasadena's Lake Avenue Church. But how appropriate to sing together: "Great things he has taught us, great things he has done; and great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son…"

In this month's AlumNews we offer an engaging and inspiring story from DMin graduate Ryan Bell, who eloquently shares his appreciation for the things he has been taught both by wonderful Fuller faculty and by our Lord. It is a great blessing to learn of the many ways our alumni are serving the Kingdom, and we hope that you will share your story with us.

Let us continue to rejoice together through Jesus the Son!

Blessings,
Mary Hubbard Given
Associate Vice President, Alumni and Church Relations
