DM711: The Contours of Ministry

Quick Overview:

This online course is the gateway into the Doctor of Ministry Program. This course should be taken immediately upon admission to the program and serves as a general orientation to the program and an introduction to the theological method and practices of the program. Students are invited to discover and share personal and ministry reflections within the context of a local community of support. This is a required first course for all students on the personalized track, unless approved otherwise.

What Others Have Thought:

"I did not expect an online course to plunge so deep into my life and my ministry. It has been a good experience. The reading, writing, receiving comments on papers, connecting with other students and meeting my community of support have all contributed to a dynamic environment for learning!"

"This course forced me to stop merely 'doing' ministry, and ask myself, 'Why do I do what I do? What values guide me? What motivations drive me?' For the first time in a long time I examined my ministry, past, present, and future."

Course Project:

Students will complete online learning activities and write a variety of papers and case studies which will culminate in a theologically reflective integration project.
