CMR Professional Development

 Practical Training Opportunities

The Center for Missiological Research provides two different kinds of practical training opportunities for PhD students: Instructor in Training (IIT) and Administrator in Training (AIT). In both cases the primary emphasis is the same: to offer students reasonable opportunities to gain training and experience in the types of work that faculty do (teaching, grading, research and administration) in ways that also meet the ongoing needs of our School. The time commitment expected of the student in each case is 10-15 hours per week. These opportunities will be advertised to students as they are made available and provide scholarship assistance.

 Professional Training Workshops

All CMR students are invited to participate in a variety of professional training workshops offered throughout each year. These include our Teaching Profession Workshops, training in Human Subject Research, and Dissertation Writing and Publication Seminars. The purpose of these events is to prepare our students for the practicalities of teaching in a college, university or seminary setting.
