F-1 Visas

About the F-1 visa(for translation in Korean, click here 한국어 안내는 이곳을 클릭하세요.)

An F-1 visa is a non-immigrant visa issued by a United States Consulate abroad to an international student who is coming to the United States to pursue full-time studies in a U.S. academic institution. The F-1 visa is the most common student visa among Fuller’s international students. For more detailed information about the F-1 student visa, please visit the U.S. Department of State website.

How to Apply for an F-1 Student Visa

There are four steps you must complete in order to apply for an F-1 student visa as a Fuller Seminary student:

  1. Apply and be admitted to a qualifying degree program or certificate program at Fuller Seminary.
  2. Complete and submit an  I-20 Certificate of Eligibility Application  to the International Services Office a minimum of 3 months prior to beginning your studies.
  3. If needed, complete and submit all Declaration of Financial Support documents to the International Services Office a minimum of 3 months prior to beginning your studies.
  4. Once all forms have been submitted and approved, the International Services Office will send you a new I-20 (certificate of eligibility) form with which you can apply for an F-1 student visa at the nearest U.S. Consulate or Embassy.

Please see  Information for International Students  for additional instructions. If you have questions and want to speak with an international student advisor, please contact the International Services Office.

I-20 Transfer Information

If you are an international student currently in the United States with an active I-20 from another educational institution, you may be able to transfer your I-20 to Fuller Seminary. This will allow you to maintain continuous F-1 status and exempt you from paying an additional SEVIS fee.

To transfer your I-20 from your current institution to Fuller Seminary, please contact the International Services Office.
