The U.S. Department of State estimates that 14,500 to 17,500 people are trafficked into the United States each year; half of whom are children and 33 percent are children believed to be trafficked into the U.S. solely for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
The second North American Asha Forum will focus on empowering and creating actions to prevent all forms of child sexual abuse in North America.
Hosted by Fuller Theological Seminary and part of Viva, the forum informs, unites, equips and mobilizes Christians worldwide in preventing all forms of child sexual abuse, and works with sexually abused children in the context of family and community, helping them become all God created them to be.
The Asha Forum is not only for practitioners to develop their ministry skills, but also for anyone who is interested in learning more about how Christians can begin to educate, advocate, and equip our communities to respond to the issue of sexual exploitation, abuse, and human trafficking.
