Requirements for Health Insurance (Fall 2007 through Summer 2008)

ALL STUDENTS:  If you meet one or more of the criteria below, you must
1) purchase a health insurance plan provided through the Seminary, or
2) successfully complete the online waiver process:

  • An SOT or SIS  master’s-level or SIS ThM student registered for 8 or more units in a quarter on the Pasadena Campus*

  • An SOT ThM student registered for 8 or more 500-level units or 4 or more 800-level units in a quarter on the Pasadena Campus*

  • A J1 or F1 visa student and his/her dependents on J2 or F2 visas (residing anywhere in the U.S.)

  • An SOT Ph.D. (CATS) student registered for 4 or more units in a quarter on the Pasadena Campus*

  • An SIS Ph.D. student registered for 4 or more units in a quarter on the Pasadena Campus*

  • An SOP Ph.D., Psy.D., and MFT student registered for 2 or more units in a quarter on the Pasadena Campus*

* Includes directed study, practicum, dissertation units, but does not include IDL, online Doctor of Ministry, Doctor of Missiology, MAGL seminar, or extension class units.  Enrollment in an internship in the School of Theology is equivalent to 4 units per quarter, regardless of how many units the student is receiving for the internship.  Students must also reside in Southern California to meet the insurance requirements.

Eligibility for Health Insurance (Fall 2007 through Summer 2008)

Only students meeting one or more of the criteria outlined above are eligible to purchase BLUE CROSS.  BLUE CROSS coverage is not available on a voluntary basis.  Students meeting one or more of the criteria outlined above are also eligible to select one of the DELOS plans for their insurance coverage.

In addition, the following students are eligible to purchase Delos Plan A or B on a voluntary basis:

  • Students registered for one (1) or more units in a quarter
  • Students at extension sites registered for one (1) or more units in a quarter
  • Doctor of Ministry and Doctor of Missiology students
  • Students registered for IDL or online units
  • Visiting Faculty and Scholars
  • Ph.D. students paying continuation fees

If you qualify, once a year during Fall Quarter registration you may change between BLUE CROSS, DELOS plan A, or DELOS plan B for an effective date of October 1st.
