DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed as a practicum in the from of lay ministry called prayer ministry or the ministry of deep level healing. The purposes of the course are: (1) to provide the student with supervision in his/her personal practice of, and involvement in, the ministry of deep level healing; (2) to guide the student in the maturing of his/her practical skills and spiritual gifts for this ministry; (3) to study the various models of deep level healing in the Body of Christ so that the student broadens his/her knowledge and application of deep level healing prayer; and (4) to look at some of the more specialized applications of deep-healing prayer. Attention will be given to the practice of this ministry cross-culturally.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Understand and critique several prominent approaches to deep level healing,COURSE FORMAT:
The class will meet once a week for three hours. Class sessions will be divided into two sections; approximately one-third of the time will involve lecture and two-thirds given over to actual ministry sessions led by the students. In addition to the regular class sessions, the instructor or a ministry team member will meet with students from 4:45-6:15 p.m. prior to class for deep healing prayer sessions.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Reading: Read the five required books and one book from the recommended reading list and complete a two-three page paper (single-spaced) addressing all of the applicable questions on the handout for Reading Reaction Reports on each book. Reports are due weeks 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and 9 of class.
3. Practicum: Each student will lead at least one ministry session under the supervision of the instructor or a ministry team member either during class or in the pre-class ministry sessions. The session will be critiqued by the instructor and/or class members.
4. The student will write a 30-page term paper from a list of topics supplied or approved by the instructors.
PREREQUISITE: M0506: Deep-Level Healing. No Auditors.
RELATIONSHIP TO CURRICULUM: Elective.
FINAL EXAMINATION: None.
