Bio
Andrés is a second-generation Salvadorian, born in Houston, Texas. He holds a B.A. from The University of Houston, a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary – Texas, and a D.Min. from Asbury Theological Seminary. His doctoral research was focused on church multiplication, exploring the intersection of missional disciple-making, Christianity in Latin America, and Western secularism. After preaching his first sermon at a young age, he has started and served multiple Spanish- and English-speaking churches, schools, start-ups, and non-profits, in a variety of denominations.
His primary role is as the Executive Pastor of The Latino Initiative at Christ the King Houston, a multi-faceted approach for reaching Latinos, developing Latino church leaders, and creating ministry opportunities for Latino leaders. His other roles include being the Leadership Multiplication Associate Director for Mission to North America and Affiliate Assistant Professor of Evangelism and Leadership for Fuller Theological Seminary – Texas. He is ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America and serves on the boards of various organizations he is passionate about in the areas of Latino leadership and education.
Andrés is married to Nancy, who is a registered nurse, and together they have three children. They live in Houston’s urban core. In his off-time, he enjoys boating, off-roading, traveling, grilling, and cheering on F. C. Barcelona and the Minnesota Vikings.
