Dr. Hernandez has taught in medicine, and mental health and public health programs. She has directed counseling university and training clinics, and maintained a private practice for many years. Her publications address the integration of spirituality in clinical practice, reflective clinical education, ambiguous loss, physician wellbeing, and intimate partner violence experienced by physicians. She is a professor at Loma Linda University School of Medicine.
