Bio
Chaeyong Chong studied sociology at Yonsei University (PhD) and teaches Sociology of Religion at the Graduate School of Practical Theology. His interests lie in the problems of the institutionalization of church. He has researched and written books on the phenomenon of the Canaan believer. Recently, he has written a book on the non-institutionalized church. He has participated in developing various statistical surveys of the Korean church.

Dr. Chong wrote Christians Who Don’t Attend Church, A Continuing Challenge: The Rise of Non-Institutionalized Churches, Sociology of Small Groups, and coauthored Korean Church Trends 2023, Politics and Culture of the Kingdom of God, De-Churched, and Ministry in the Kingdom of God.
