Bio
Charles Tieszen is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a historian of religious thought. He specializes in encounters between Muslim and Christian communities as well as the interface of Islam and Christianity. He is one of the editors for the ongoing research project, Christian-Muslim Relations, A Bibliographical History. Dr. Tieszen also maintains an expertise in interreligious relations and is a practitioner of Christian-Muslim dialogue. He lives with his family in northern California.
Publications
Dr. Tieszen’s recent books include The Christian Encounter with Muhammad, Cross Veneration in the Medieval Islamic World, and Christian Identity amid Islam in Medieval Spain. He is also an editor for numerous books, including Theological Issues in Christian-Muslim Dialogue and A Textual History of Christian-Muslim Relations.
