Bio

Timothy Gombis enjoyed teaching at the seminary level for 12 years, and focuses on the intersection of New Testament studies and contemporary culture. He has a podcast called “Faith Improvised,” on which he works out the complexities and delights of Christian discipleship in the modern world. He enjoys traveling—especially long road trips—hiking, golf, and baseball. He also has three adult children.

Publications

Dr. Gombis has written four books: An introduction to Paul, called Paul: A Guide for the Perplexed. He produced a book on Ephesians, stemming from his PhD research, titled The Drama of Ephesians: Participating in the Triumph of God. In The Story of God Commentary series, he wrote the volume on Mark’s Gospel. His most recent book is on Paul’s conception of ministry—Power in Weakness: Paul’s Transformed Vision for Ministry.
