CCCU Alumni Admissions Requirements
Students who are continuing their Christian education after completing a bachelor’s degree from a current Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) Governing Member* school may be eligible for a streamlined application process to the following programs: Master of Divinity, MA in Theology, MA in Theology and Ministry, MA in Justice and Advocacy, MA in Intercultural Studies, MA in Global Leadership, Certificate of Christian Studies. Applicants must hold an accredited bachelor’s degree from a CCCU school with an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 2.70 or above.
*CCCU Associate Members, Collaborative Partners, and International Affiliates are not currently eligible for Fuller’s CCCU Alumni Scholarship opportunities. (To see a list of CCCU Governing Member schools, view this List of CCCU Institutions and de-select “Associate Members,” Collaborative Partners,” and “International Affiliates” so that only “Governing Members” are listed).

Within the Application for Admission, you will be prompted to list one (1) reference from a pastor or denominational leader.- Note: Admission to the MJA program requires a reference from someone in the field of justice and advocacy work.
- Essay Responses
Once you have completed the Application for Admission, you will be prompted to upload and submit your essay responses to the following questions into the application portal.- Religious Autobiography
Reflect on your past Christian experience, including the most significant spiritual event/influence in your life, the role of Christ in your religious experience, your involvement in Christian service, and your reason(s) for attending your church. (minimum 250 words; maximum 500 words) - Statement of Purpose
Why are you interested in Fuller Theological Seminary and this particular program? (minimum 250 words; maximum 500 words)* - Statement of Calling
At this point in your Christian journey, how do you envision your calling to God's mission in the world? (minimum 250 words; maximum 500 words)*
- Religious Autobiography
If you are bilingual in English and Spanish and wish to take coursework in both languages, you will be required to submit some of the required essays in Spanish as well as English.
- Official Transcripts
- Submit official transcripts from ALL post-secondary schools attended, including a transcript showing a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited CCCU Governing Member institution, with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 or above.
- All transcripts are evaluated in determining admission to Fuller master's degree programs.
- If you do not currently hold an accredited bachelor's or master's degree or will not receive an accredited bachelor's or master's degree before the desired term of entry, you may be eligible to apply to the MDiv program as a Special Student. Click here for more information.
- Submit official transcripts from ALL post-secondary schools attended, including a transcript showing a bachelor's degree earned from an accredited CCCU Governing Member institution, with a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 2.7 or above.
- Application Fee
- Applicants who meet the CCCU Alumni criteria are not required to pay an application fee.
- English Language Requirements
- If your native language is not English, an updated TOEFL or IELTS score may be required if your original score is more than 2 years old
* The MA in Global Leadership application has slightly different essay prompts, including a question about ministry experience. Please note that the MAGL program is designed for practitioners with at least four years of significant ministry experience (10 hours per week or more) who are actively engaged in a leadership role.
* The MA in Justice and Advocacy application has slightly different essay prompts, including a question about calling to justice and advocacy work. Please note that the MJA program is designed for practitioners with significant experience in the field of justice and advocacy work.
