De-Centering the Building in the Black Church with Dr. Dwight Radcliff

Our current pandemic has exposed the dependency modern American Christianity has upon our physical houses of worship. For various reasons (historical, socio-political, and cultural), this dependency is often heightened in the Black community.  Dr. Dwight Radcliff (Asst. Provost of the Pannell Center for African American Church Studies and Asst. Professor of Mission, Theology & Culture) invites you engage in a conversation on how we can center Jesus in our faith, amidst and after these difficult times.

A first step is to understand the psychological science behind these suggestions. This hour-long presentation with Dr. Cynthia Eriksson will offer a basic framework of science-based resilience strategies that resonate with Christian faith and practice.

Flourishing in the Third Third of Life with Dr. Mark Roberts

Today, approximately 10,000 people in the U.S. will turn 65. The popular cultural narrative says their time of fruitfulness is over. But Scripture offers a different vision, a vision of flourishing in the “third third” of life. Dr. Mark Roberts will lead a conversation that will equip you to serve the “third thirders” in your ministries as well as think in new ways about your own future.
