The Antioch Experience cohort at Fuller Texas

Earn an MDiv or an MATM on our Houston campus!

The Antioch Experience cohort is offered only on Fuller’s Houston campus. It is a 2-year full-time program for the Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry (MATM) degree, and a 3-year full-time program for the Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree.

Overview

Fuller Theological Seminary invites you to join our Antioch Ministry Experience cohort, launching Fall 2024 on our Houston campus.

The Antioch of the Book of Acts was a city where Jewish and Gentile Christians had to work through, together, how to live out their faith in Jesus amidst their different cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.

The spirit of the Antioch Experience cohort, hosted at the Fuller Texas campus in Houston, evokes this exciting season in the life of the early church. The cohort will gather Christians from diverse backgrounds to intentionally learn from and grow with one another. We believe Houston, with its remarkable diversity, is a city where a fresh expression of ancient faith is emerging.

This full-time cohort offers the MATM and MDiv degrees in a hybrid format, allowing students both flexibility and irreplaceable in-person experiences through once-a-quarter on-campus intensives.

Full-time students are eligible for our Texas Theological Foundation scholarship, which covers 50% of tuition costs. For more information, connect with our Admissions Counselor below.

Learning Outcomes for the Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry

Fuller’s MATM is an experiential program designed to train leaders for positions inside and outside the church. Graduates will

  • understand the nature and purpose of Christian ministry, including their calling and role
    in God’s mission;
  • responsibly engage in biblical interpretation and theological reflection to faithfully teach in Christian ministry; and
  • demonstrate capacities for leadership in diverse cultural ministry contexts for transformational discipleship, mission, ministry, and worship.

Learning Outcomes for the Master of Divinity

Fuller’s rigorous MDiv program integrates theological reflection, interdisciplinary perspectives, spiritual formation, and practical skills to equip graduates for holistic leadership. The Master of Divinity is the gold standard of preparation for those seeking ordination or doctoral-level theological study. Students will

  • reflect critically and theologically on their formation and vocation in relation to changing global realities;
  • engage in biblical-theological interpretation for preaching and other expressions of Christian witness for the church and the world;
  • lead in diverse cultural and social contexts as theologically reflective and ethical practitioners; and
  • gain knowledge and essential skills for contextualized ministry.
