Inactive Fuller MS in Marriage and Family Therapy (MSMFT) students who wish to resume studies in the MSMFT program may be eligible to apply for reinstatement if they have taken at least one course in the program in the last two years (eight quarters) and were not formally dismissed from the program.

Inactive Fuller MSMFT students who were administratively or academically dismissed from the program and/or who have not taken a course in the MSMFT program in the last two years (eight quarters) must submit an entirely new and complete application for admission.

Please note: There is a seven year time limit for MSMFT degree program completion. Courses more than seven years old do not count towards degree completion requirements. Please consult with the admissions team at [email protected] if you have any questions about the seven year time limit.

Admission Requirements

All Applicants

• Application for Admission - Complete and submit the Application for Admission
• Reference Forms - You will be prompted to list one (1) reference from a pastor or denominational leader.
• Essay Response - You will be prompted to upload and submit one essay response (250-350 words total) to the following questions into the application portal.
  • What changes have happened in your life that you believe will enable you to successfully complete the program?
  • Have you experienced any shifts in the support (relational, spiritual, financial, etc.) you will receive from others that could impact your ability to complete the program?
  • What changes do you hope to make in your studies going forward, and what is your anticipated timeline for completing your degree program?
• Interview - Applicants may be required to interview during the reinstatement application process.
• Official Transcripts - Official transcripts are required only if you have completed coursework from another institution since last applying to Fuller Theological Seminary.
• Application Fee - Applicants eligible to apply for reinstatement are not required to pay an application fee.
• English Language Requirements - If your native language is not English, an updated TOEFL or IELTS score may be required if your original score is more than two years old

Notification

Applicants are notified of admission decisions, in most cases, around four weeks following the completion of an application file.
