Degree Preparation Summary
Master of Divinity (MDiv)*: Provides a full, comprehensive training in biblical studies and theology to open doors for ordination, further academics, parachurch ministry, or service in any vocation.
Master of Arts in Theology (MAT): Gives students a solid academic foundation in biblical and theological studies for further academic studies or to inform one's ministry and work in local communities.
Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry (MATM): Forms students for work in their local church or communities through a range of biblical, theological and ministry courses and through a practicum to help students integrate theory into practice.
Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAICS): Prepares students for work or service in cross-cultural or multi-cultural contexts, equipping students with theological, biblical, sociological and anthropological tools.
Master of Arts in Christian Leadership (MACL): Supports the every-day followers of Jesus with additional tools to think critically and take informed action in their efforts to transform their local communities or ministries with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Master of Arts in Global Leadership (MAGL): Equips pastors, missionaries, and non-profit leaders, engaged together in a "cohort" (learning community), with new biblical, theological, cultural, and organizational insights for their leadership.
*Only 2/3 of the MDiv program can be completed in Sacramento, the remaining 1/3 must be completed at an MDiv degree site such as Menlo Park, Pasadena, Seattle, Phoenix, Houston, or Irvine.
