Bio

Along with teaching in graduate and undergraduate settings, Luisa Gallagher has practical experience in leading in ministry and church settings. Dr. Gallagher worked in higher education alongside emerging adults in student development and in areas of social justice education and service-learning among marginalized populations. Most recently, she served as the lead pastor of Evergreen Community Church in Portland, Oregon. The focus of her academic scholarship is ministry, leadership, and Christian spiritual formation.

Gallagher’s most recent publications include Unscripted Spirituality: Making Meaning of Faith and Leadership in College (2021), chapters in Sixteenth-Century Mission (2021), The Spirit and Social Justice (2019), and Asia Pacific Pentecostalism (2019), together with peer-reviewed articles in Christian Education Journal (2018–2019).
