Bio

Michal Meulenberg is the managing director of Islamic Studies Initiatives and an affiliate assistant professor in Islamic studies at Fuller Theological Seminary.

Her classes focus on (the history of) Muslim-Christian relations, Islam in North America, women in Islam, peace and conflict transformation, and grassroots peacebuilding and justice advocacy.

Dr. Meulenberg cofounded a nonprofit focused on peace education and is part of a grassroots Muslim-Christian peacebuilding initiative that connected over 2,500 Muslims and (evangelical) Christians. Their work has been nominated for and won several peace awards and grants.

Additionally, Meulenberg is actively involved in addressing the issue of mass incarceration through education, advocacy, and grassroots activism.

She was born in the Middle East, grew up in Europe, and has made the US her home since 2005. Her passion is to mobilize and equip the next generation to be peace builders and justice advocates in the way of Jesus in their personal lives, locally, and around the world.
