COURSE DESCRIPTION
This 4-hour workshop will support the clinical development of therapists working with a primarily Asian American client base.  Presenters will discuss (1) the intersection of Christian identity and racialization and the impact this has on Asian American family life; (2) how structural racism impacts interpersonal relationships at home and at church; and (3) how fostering cultural humility allows the clinician to broach issues of race in the therapy room.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
-Participants will be able to describe how racialization and white normativity impacts the Asian American family.
-Participants will be able to explain how structural racism unfolds in interpersonal relationships.
-Participants will be able to practice clinical skills that welcome discussions of race and racial identity in the therapy room.
